Weed control fabric, also known as landscape fabric, weed barrier fabric, weed suppressant membrane, black plastic mulch, unterbodengewebe, or anti-grass cloth, is a woven plastic fabric widely used in gardening and agricultural fields. It features excellent breathability, rapid water permeability, and effective weed suppression.
In many regions, blown polyethylene (PE) films are traditionally employed as weed barriers to prevent weed growth and root penetration. However, these PE films, being transparent, allow sunlight to reach weeds underneath, enabling photosynthesis and thus failing to control weed growth effectively. Additionally, the high sealing performance of PE films results in poor breathability and inadequate water permeability, adversely affecting root water absorption and plant growth. Furthermore, poor ventilation can lead to increased soil temperatures and root rot.
In orchards and crop fields, traditional plastic mulches have short lifespans and uneven water permeability, leading to moist and moldy soil that negatively impacts root growth, frequently causing root rot and significant crop loss.
Currently, the widespread application of weed barrier fabric for watermelon cultivation is prevalent due to its outstanding water permeability, which maintains consistent soil moisture, promotes robust root growth, and creates an ideal environment for thriving plants. Consequently, watermelons grown with this fabric have higher sugar content and superior quality.
Our weed barrier fabric is versatile and suitable for various agricultural and industrial applications, including livestock farming, crop cultivation, and factory-scale production, effectively preventing weed growth, reducing mud and dirt, and keeping surfaces clean.
